AI Email Generation removes that blank page. It’s a generative AI email drafting tool built directly into the CRM contact record, using donor context and a short prompt to produce a personalized, ready-to-edit email in seconds.
How It Works
From any contact record in Virtuous CRM+, click the Compose Personalized Email icon. Alongside the existing options, Send Personal Email and Apply a Template, there’s now a third: Compose with Momentum.
Selecting it opens an overlay showing the contact’s name, email address, and donor context, giving summary, lifetime-to-date giving, and tags. From there:
- Type a plain-language prompt describing what you want the email to say
- The AI uses your prompt and the donor’s context to generate a full draft, subject line included
- Review the draft, refine it by adding to the prompt and regenerating, or copy it as-is
- Click Open in Email to send the recipient address, subject line, and body straight into your default email client (Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail, and others)
Virtuous does not send the email for you. The system generates the content; you send it from your own inbox.

Included in Every CRM+ Subscription
AI Email Generation is available to all Virtuous CRM customers, across all subscription tiers, at no additional cost. Each organization gets 100 email generation credits per month, with one credit consumed per email generated (regenerations included). Credits reset monthly.
If your organization already has an active Momentum subscription, clicking Compose with Momentum will redirect you to the Momentum product to compose the email there instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this replace the full Momentum integration?
No. This brings a lightweight version of Momentum’s AI drafting capability into CRM+. A separate, deeper Momentum integration is a future initiative.
Does Virtuous send the email for me?
No. Virtuous generates the content and hands it to your default email client via the Open in Email button. You send it from there.
What happens when my credits run out?
The UI will point you toward Momentum and offer to connect you with your Customer Success Manager to discuss upgrading. There’s no self-serve option to purchase additional credits at this time.
How many credits do we get, and when do they reset?
Each organization gets 100 credits per month, resetting each calendar month. One credit is used per email generation, including regenerations.
What donor information does the AI use?
The donor context shown in the overlay: the contact’s name, email address, giving summary, lifetime-to-date giving amount, and tags, combined with the prompt you write.
Is this available on all subscription tiers?
Yes. AI Email Generation is included in all active CRM subscription tiers at no additional cost.
What if my organization already has a Momentum subscription?
Clicking Compose with Momentum will redirect you to the Momentum product to compose the email there instead of using the in-app CRM+ overlay.
