The most effective fundraisers don’t just raise money, they build momentum among their supporters + believers. The shift from addition (incremental growth) to multiplication (exponential impact) happens when organizations move beyond transactions and activate their supporters as storytellers, fundraisers + advocates.
Donor behavior is shifting. People want to belong to a movement, not just give to a cause. The most successful nonprofits aren’t just running campaigns, they’re rallying communities, scaling generosity + fostering deep engagement. From charity: water’s Spring membership to GivingTuesday’s grassroots global expansion, organizations that prioritize community-driven growth are seeing sustained impact and donor retention at unprecedented levels.
Takeaway: Fundraisers who embrace multiplication over addition create experiences that spark shared ownership, engagement + advocacy. It’s time to unleash the superpower of community into your mission.
Finding the right balance between general, mid-major, and major donor portfolios is key to sustainable fundraising growth. In this session, we’ll explore strategies for treating every donor like a major donor—building personalized relationships at every level while ensuring fundraisers have the right portfolio mix to maximize impact.

The world of generosity has changed. Your donors live in a hyper-personalized world where Netflix predicts their next binge, and their inboxes anticipate their next craving before they do. Meanwhile, too many nonprofits are still sending “Dear Friend” emails and one-size-fits-all appeals—hoping for connection but creating disconnect instead.
The result? Donors feel unseen. Teams work in silos. And generosity stalls.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Enter The Donor Connection Blueprint: a simple, structured framework with five actionable steps to help you meet donors where they are, break down silos, and create meaningful, scalable connections that drive results.
This isn’t a gimmick. It’s a proven, scalable framework that starts where you are and builds toward what’s possible. Your donors want to feel seen. Your teams want to win together. And your mission deserves the generosity that comes when connections become personal.
This is how you meet—and keep—your donors.
Healthy data fuels strong donor relationships – Clean and trust your data to connect meaningfully.
Speak to the Person, Not the Wallet – Segment and craft messages that match donor passions.
Right Message, Right Time – Automate journeys to keep engagement high.
Personalization That Scales – Use AI to predict needs and create human connections at scale.
In today’s digital-first world, marketing can make or break your fundraising success. But are hidden mistakes holding you back?
In this session, we’ll uncover the top five digital marketing missteps nonprofits make—like ineffective messaging, missed engagement opportunities, and poor donor journeys—and show you exactly how to fix them.
Walk away with actionable strategies to optimize your campaigns, strengthen donor relationships, and maximize your online impact.
Acquiring a donor is a milestone, but their lifetime value is what truly fuels your mission. In this session, we’ll explore strategies to move donors from a one-time gift to sustained, long-term support—maximizing retention, increasing gift frequency, and growing donor lifetime value.
Learn how to cultivate deeper relationships, personalize engagement at scale, and implement data-driven strategies that keep donors invested in your mission year after year. Because the real impact isn’t just in the first gift—it’s in a lifetime of generosity.

Most of the stories we consume today are on a screen. One of the biggest questions we love to ask at charity: water is how can we disrupt where mass culture is heading and create something novel and unique. It became apparent that in our very digital world, we wanted to invite people into a physical space to engage with our work in real life. At the charity: water experience lab, people can push real buttons to drill a well, walk in real life to carry water alongside a girl in Uganda, and look at water under a real microscope to see what’s lurking inside. Even the giving experience is interactive at the Lab. Viktoria will talk about how the idea for the Experience Lab was born, and how charity: water is using physical, immersive experiences to reimagine donor engagement.
Meet us at the Main Stage for the Day 2 Closing, where we’ll unearth the biggest takeaways from the day and give you a sneak peek into the agenda for the final day of the Responsive Nonprofit Summit.
